Silverdale Self Storage Supports Weiti River Predator Control.
Pest control of the Weiti Flexman Reserve was handed over to Hibiscus Forest & Bird (Inc.) in May.

DoC and F&B now favour breaks to trapping called ‘Pulsing’, which is believed to yield greater numbers of pests predators overall.
(Hopefully that is not due to pests surviving longer and breeding more … while devouring yet more wildlife?)
Volunteers are making inroads into bringing back the Weiti River to a beautiful place to go. New Planting is now establishing itself, and the birds are slowly returning to the river which once was a vibrant part of Silverdale, and will be again in the future.
