On Saturday 26th May 2018 in preparation for a weekend of planting some 3,000 trees, local volunteers were joined by a large team from the Illuminate Church (associated with the Kingsway School). By noon they had ‘spudded-in’ approximately 1,500 trees in a cleared strip of reserve below the Atlas Concrete Ready-mix yards (Titan Place).

Nearly three thousand plants later, they raised a cheer and a song, then got stuck into a welcome BBQ prepared by Council staff.
On Tuesday 22nd May a group of five ‘Chorus’ five employees lead by Frikkie le Roux volunteered their staff-bonding day to do hard-labour of track-improvement work in the Weiti riverside ‘Flexman’ reserve in Silverdale.
